The Acadiana Advocate
YOUNGSVILLE - There were a couple of reasons that Ascension Episcopal opened District 8-2A play with a 30-17 win over rival Catholic High of New Iberia.
First, Ascension senior quarterback Connor Edmond threw for 254 yards, ran for 56 yards, threw a touchdown, and rushed for 56 yards and three scores.
Secondly, the Ascension defense forced four turnovers, including three interceptions, two of which led to touchdowns for the Gators.
And finally, well, there was definitely an emotional aspect to this game, as junior linebacker Luke Curry explained.
