Ascension Episcopal Track and Field Excels at Meet

Ascension Episcopal School’s track and field athletes delivered outstanding performances at last Friday’s meet, securing multiple top finishes and setting new school records.

Boys’ Highlights

Hayes Trotter led the boys’ team with a dominant first-place finish in the 1600m and a strong fifth-place effort in the 400m. Quinton Foshee contributed with a solid fourth-place finish in the 400m.  Beau Domengeaux placed fourth in the 110m hurdles and an impressive second place in pole vault, while Andre Abshire secured second place in the 110m hurdles and clinched a first-place victory in the 300m hurdles.

 
The field events also saw impressive results, with Branon Mitchell finishing second in the long jump and breaking the school record.  Les Schouest secured sixth place in the triple jump, while Charlie Milam demonstrated his strength in the throwing events, earning third place in discus and second in shot put.

The boys’ relay teams also showcased their speed, finishing second in the 4x200m relay and third in the 4x400m relay. As a team, Ascension Episcopal secured a strong third-place overall finish.

Girls’ Highlights

On the girls’ side, Bella Biggerstaff delivered an exceptional performance, winning both the 1600m and 3200m races while also breaking the school record in the mile. Her achievements earned her the prestigious Best in Track award for the meet. Annie Boudreaux ran a strong race to claim fourth in the 800m, while Hylece Mitchell placed eighth in the 100m and fourth in the long jump.

In the field events, Ella Grace Hebert finished sixth in the high jump, while Gabby Ahrabi placed fifth in discus and third in shot put. Sarah Ahrabi contributed with seventh-place finishes in both javelin and shot put.

The girls’ relay teams also put in solid performances, finishing fifth in the 4x200m relay and fourth in the 4x400m relay.

With record-breaking achievements and multiple podium finishes, Ascension Episcopal’s track and field team showcased their talent, dedication, and competitive spirit. The team looks to carry this momentum into their upcoming meets as they continue their outstanding season.
