The Ascension Episcopal boys’ varsity soccer team made school history by advancing to the state championship for the first time ever, marking a milestone moment for the program. Entering the final as the second-ranked team in the district, the Blue Gators faced off against top-ranked Newman High at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond in an electrifying showdown.
Both teams exhibited exceptional skill, determination, and heart, fiercely competing for every possession. Despite a hard-fought battle, Ascension finished as the state runner-up, falling 3-1 in a match that showcased their talent and resilience. This historic season is a testament to the team’s dedication, growth, and championship mindset, setting the stage for even more outstanding achievements in the future!
