Ascension Episcopal rides pitching, timely home run to roll into state quarterfinals

Ascension Episcopal pitchers Hayden Pearson and Jackson Devey combined on a two-hitter, and catcher Luke Falgout hit a two-run homer in a 6-2 Division IV select regional playoff win against 10th-seeded Central Private on Wednesday in Youngsville.

The seventh-seeded Blue Gators scored three runs in the first inning to beat the Redhawks from the Baton Rouge area.
